Razer DeathAdder Elite Chroma– Best gaming mouse 2019  (Editor’s Pick)

Razer DeathAdder Elite - Multi-Color Ergonomic Gaming Mouse...
  • The world's most advanced optical sensor with true 16,000 DPI, 450...
  • Gaming-optimized Razer mechanical mouse switches - durable up to 50...
  • Ergonomic form factor has been tested and validated by top eSports...
  • Gaming-grade tactile scroll wheel for greater control.
  • DPI buttons at your fingertips and Razer Chroma customizable lighting.

The release date for the Razer DeathAdder Elite mouse was highly anticipated by gamers from all over the world.

Few months after it has been released, the Razer DeathAdder Elite has managed to prove itself as one of the fastest and most reliable gaming mice on the market.

Why the fastest? The Razer DeathAdder Elite has been equipped with a new 5G optical sensor with tracking up to 16,000 DPI at 450 IPS – for the purposes and needs of every esports gamer. Its sensor reaches the incredible 99,4% Resolution Accuracy, making the DeathAdder Elite the perfect tool for owning at every FPS that has been released.

In relation to durability, the Razer DeathAdder Elite has also been upgraded significantly. It has a life up to 50 million clicks, thanks to its entirely new Razer Mechanical Mouse Switches developed in cooperation with the biggest supplier of gaming mouse switches – Omron. When speaking of performance, the DeathAdder Elite offers the fastest gaming response time.

 In Comparison to its Predecessor

The predecessor is Razer DeathAdder Chroma. In comparison the Elite offers two additional buttons on top for toggling DPI levels. If you are not in the habit of changing your DPI settings, you have another choice. In case you decide to download the free Razer Synapse software, which is in fact optional, you would be able to change the functions of these two buttons according to your needs and preferences.

The mouse has 7 Hyperesponse programmable buttons but to change their settings, you will have to download the Razer Synapse of the Razer DeathAdder Elite and do this there. Don’t worry, the Synapse is a very user-friendly gaming software.

Even though there are not many differences between the DeathAdder Elite and Chroma, if you don’t have the previous version and are looking for a new mouse, this is definitely a good choice.

 Design, Performance & Features

The DeathAdder Elite keeps all that made the Chroma a member of the best gaming mouse club and takes it to the next level. Razer DeathAdder Elite has a subtle ergonomic design, optimized for comfort and functionality. It lacks a lot of side buttons, but the available ones are comfortable and crispy. The DeathAdder Elite also compensates with other qualities.

The Razer Elite weights just a little above 100g which is of medium weight and at first you might feel it strange in your grip, but getting used to it takes no time. You will notice that its body is mainly made of plastic, which is solid and even dirt-resistant. On the left and right bottom sides there are rubber inserts which guarantee a solid and comfortable grip, too.

Another innovation with the Razer DeathAdder Elite are the mouse skates, which are no longer just in the corners. DeathAdder Elite comes with one big skate across the top and one big skate across the bottom. This can give you great maneuverability, as well as speed.

In terms of lighting, there is no significant difference with the Chroma edition. The colors can be changed from the Synapse software. Here lies probably the only drawback of the Razer DeathAdder Elite – the lighting is covered almost entirely when holding the mouse.
All in all, the Razer DeathAdder Elite is an amazing all-purpose mouse, which would give you great advantage at speed and precision. It doesn’t matter if you are going to slay monsters in the Witcher 3 or just want to perform majestic headshots in any FPS the Razer DeathAdder Elite is your best buy.
Pros
  • Perfect button layout
  • Wide range of functionality
  • Excellent grip design
  • Left-hand version available
Cons
  • Lighting gets covered up
  • No weight customization

SteelSeries Sensei Wireless – Most Durable Gaming Mouse

SteelSeries Sensei Wireless Laser Gaming Mouse
  • Double sensitivity
  • Adjustable lift distance
  • Connectivity Technology: Wireless, wired - USB, 2.4 GHz
  • Cutting edge laser sensor - Superior Performance
  • Exact features - Aim, Accel, Lift, Snapping

Honestly, this mouse has everything it takes to be on the number one spot, the thing is, it is a little less popular than the Razer DeathAdder Chroma. The SteelSeries Sensei is a 2-in-1 mouse that can serve as both wired and wireless mode.

It consists of two parts namely: A base which serves both as a transceiver and a charger plus the mouse itself. Right out of the box, the SteelSeries Sensei is ready for action real quick, all you have to do is plug into your PC, and you are good to go.

Design and Features of the SteelSeries Sensei Wireless Laser Gaming Mouse

The SteelSeries Sensei has a very simple and minimalistic design. It comes with a DPI switching button at the rare alongside two additional buttons which are programmable. At the front of this high-performance mouse is a scroll wheel in between the left and right buttons.

  • The mouse comes with the SteelSeries engine three software where all buttons can be programmed to any functionality of your choice.
  • In the software menu, you can also customize the RGB light settings, OLED display, and tactile alerts.
  • The SteelSeries Sensei 700 also comes with both a 3-foot rubber cable and a 6-foot braided cable.
  • The mouse shuts down after 15 minutes of inactivity to ensure the sustainability of its 20hour battery life which takes about 3.5 hours to go from zero to full juice.

Wired and Wireless Gaming Mouse

  • Without the cables attached, the Sensei weighs just 120g; it is 41mm tall, 69mm wide, 129mm long. The charger base that comes with the mouse in the box weighs about 208 grams. It is also 165mm long from front to back, 100mm in width and stands 24mm at the highest point. If you are a Sensei Proper mouse user and wants to switch to the wireless laser, you will notice that the Proper weighed at just 102 grams. I’m pretty sure you will adjust to the new weight after a week or two of gaming.
  • The mouse input lag is one thing I’d love to stress out here, the main reason you would want to choose a wired mouse over a wireless counterpart is time taken to send information to your CPU. Although the Sensei didn’t perform as fast as it does in the wired mode like it did when I don’t make use of its cables, the lagging difference is almost non-existent, and that’s a standout functionality.
  • The sensei offers up to 8,200 adjustable DPI sensitivity and also tracks up to 150 inches per second, with a 1-millisecond response rate and 1,000Hz polling rate, enemies would be conveniently kept at bay during intense gaming.
  • By default, the Sensei has a 3G acceleration accuracy which allows movement predictions but that can be dangerous in some games but not too worry it can be turned off in the software menu.
Pros
  • Programmable, eight button design
  • Ambidextrous
  • Adjustable sensitivity
Cons
  • Lagging is noticed in wireless mode
  • Additional software content is expensive.
The SteelSeries Sensei goes for the same price as the Razer Ouroboros but one thing that makes the later unique is its ergonomic design which is characterized by magnetically attached modules. If the charging pad were absent in the Steel Sensei it would have been compared to the Logitech G602 which does not make it on our list of Best PC Gaming Mouse.

Logitech G502 Proteus Review – Proteus Core

Logitech G502 HERO High Performance Gaming Mouse
  • High performance HERO 16K Sensor: Logitech's most accurate sensor yet...
  • 11 Customizable Buttons and Onboard Memory: Assign custom commands to...
  • Adjustable Weight System: Arrange up to five removable 3.6 grams...
  • Programmable RGB Lighting and LIGHTSYNC Technology: Customize lighting...
  • Mechanical Switch Button Tensioning: Metal spring tensioning system...

Logitech G502 Proteus Core tunable gaming mouse is one of the most popular and preferred mice in the gaming world. And for good reasons, although there are some aspects in which it falls behind its immediate competitors. Those are only in design context.

In regard of the G502 Proteus Core’s features and design it has some significant improvements in comparison to its predecessor. While the clickers are plastic, on both sides of the Logitech G502 there are rubber coatings to ensure a better grip. The thumb-rest is slightly enlarged for more comfort, adding to the ergonomic design.

The weight of the Proteus Core is significant around 147g and it can reach up to 163g with the included weights that come with it. You can use them to adjust how heavy or light the mouse should be. Be warned that the cable of the Logitech G502 Proteus Core is quite thick and this adds additional weight to the feel. This gives an edge to the Proteus Core, as gamers appreciate the ability to customize their mouse.

The weights are attached on the bottom side of the Logitech G502 and are covered by a magnetized lid. Align them in the formation you prefer – whether the mouse would be heavier at the back or at the nose, left or right, depends all on your personal preferences.

 Ergonomics & Design

The Logitech G502 Proteus Core includes couple of upgrades compared to its predecessors. The ‘free-wheel’ for enabling the free spinning mode of the wheel is moved to the top of the mouse and the button is right at your fingertips. The case with all other Proteus Core buttons is the same – they are all within clicking distance.

The only drawbacks of the Logitech G502 Proteus Core are basically insignificant but gamers often pay attention to that. First of all, the mouse feet might wear out a bit too quickly for anyone’s taste. Additionally, the thick cord adds weight to the mouse. But you can adjust that! Lastly, the LED lighting of the G502 Proteus Core cannot be adjusted. Despite all of its tuning options, this Logitech mouse cannot change colors, you can adjust only the intensity of the blue shade.

Some might say that you will put pressure on your wrist if you use a clawgrip, but Logitech G502 Proteus Core is actually quite comfortable to hold. Your clicks will be detected even if you have to press the middle of the left and right buttons.

Logitech G502 Proteus Core got many gamers excited because it is a tunable gaming mouse. Not only in regard of the weight adjustments, but also according to the surface you use. You can calibrate the Proteus Core to soft or hard surfaces, cloth or plastic, or whatever. This can be achieved through the Logitech gaming software, which is integrated with all peripherals of the brand you might own.

 DPI adjustments

You can apply up to 5 DPI settings. From precise targeting at the lowest settings to ultra-fast maneuverability – up to 12,000 DPI. The buttons to increase and decrease DPI are comfortably placed next to your thumb. And to consider durability – the G502 Proteus Core is set at 20 million clicks and is known not to exhibit the double-click problem when you make a single click.

The Logitech G502 Proteus Core is a rock solid choice if you want a highly responsive and tunable mouse built to last. If you don’t mind it differing from you machine’s lighting, the G502 is likely the best gaming mouse currently on the market for you.
Pros
  • Highly responsive
  • Built for comfort
  • 11 customizable buttons
  • Weight adjustments & Surface tuning
  • Most Durable Gaming Mouse
  • Reasonably priced
Cons
  • Feet wear off quickly
  • Lighting cannot be changed

Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury – FPS Gaming Mouse Review

  • Glide:Dynamic coefficient of friction -: .09 µ (k)* Static...

Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury enters the Logitech peripherals category as the fastest gaming mouse on the market, especially when it comes for First Person Shooters. FPS games are given the chance to use a mouse with a Fusion Engine hybrid sensor which gives it an amazing tracking accuracy. The tracking resolution of the Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury ranges from 240 to 4,000 DPI.

Its 8 programmable buttons will allow you to make hotkey access even easier. You can set their functions in the Logitech software, with which the G402 Hyperion Fury is fully integrated. You can save different settings profiles for respective games. The only problem is that the settings are stored on your computer and if take your G402 someplace else, for a LAN party for example, and play on a different machine, the settings won’t be available.

Combined with the Delta Zero sensor, the Fusion Engine of G402 Hyperion Fury gives you an unmatched tracking ability of great accuracy at speed as fast as 420 IPS. The excellent tracking accuracy of the Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury is complimented by the durability of gaming mouse. It is set at 20 million clicks and is capable of going 250 km before its feet start wearing out significantly.

 Ergonomics

The Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury FPS gaming mouse has mixed qualities. Its form comes off as quite bulky. The mouse weighs at around 105g. In comparison to the G502, the G402 lacks adjustable weights, which might be considered a drawback for the model. Its cord is also made of plastic, unlike the G502 which is braided. This might result in quicker wearing out, but unlike the braided cord, it does not add a lot of excess weight to the feel of the G402.

Gamers with significantly smaller or larger palms might face a problem with the positioning of the buttons, as they might need to make unnatural and awkward movements with their fingers in order to reach efficiently all of Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury’s buttons.

The G402 has a thumb rest, which is considerably smaller than the one of the G502 and some gamers might find it inconvenient. Otherwise, the Hyperion Fury offers comfort for the grip, as soon as you get used to it. There is a good reason why the Logitech G402 was among the seven Logitech products that received an award from the 2017 Good Design Awards.

Logitech G402 gaming mouse has a very subtle and elegant design. It’s a combination of durable plastic and rubber for comfort, though some of the textured surfaces might come off as distracting. A drawback here could be the fact that the lighting cannot be changed – you can choose its intensity and set a breathing effect if you wish, but you cannot switch the color.

As an overall, the G402 is one of the best mice for FPS gaming, with its speed and accuracy. It might have some drawbacks in terms of ergonomics and design. Nevertheless, Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury is on the top choices dedicated FPS gamers can make. It is also a best buy in its category.
Pros
  • Amazing tracking accuracy
  • Significant durability
  • Fully integrated software
  • Highest DPI Mouse for MOBA
Cons
  • Lacks weight adjustments
  • No lighting customization

Logitech G602 Review – Best Lag-Free Wireless Gaming Mouse

Logitech G602 Lag-Free Wireless Gaming Mouse – 11...
  • Up to 250 hours of battery life (Best with Polaroid AA Batteries)
  • Power saving, high accuracy Delta Zero sensor technology. Try tracking...
  • Lag free gaming grade wireless, Performance and Endurance modes...
  • Long life buttons rated to 20 million clicks, 11 programmable buttons
  • For Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X...

If you need a long lasting all purpose wireless gaming mouse, the Logitech G602 is your top choice. It is highly preferred among gamers who wish to forget about the cord and just enjoy the freedom of movement.

The G602 wireless gaming mouse has all the characteristics of a top mouse, regardless of what you are playing – an MMO or a FPS.

 Ergonomics & Design

Logitech have tried to maximize comfort while optimizing performance with their G602 wireless gaming mouse. The only thing here, is that they have made a mouse for people inclined to palming it. Claw and fingertip grips might feel unnatural when using the Logitech G602, due to its specific curvature.

The Logitech G602 is often quoted to be the best wireless gaming mouse available and for good reasons. First of all, we have the quality design and materials. The left and right clicking buttons of the G602 are made of hard plastic, while the palm rest is rubberized for comfort and better grip. Its feet, including those around its optical sensor, are sturdy and have a travel distance of 250km. This, along with the life of 20 million clicks for the left and right buttons, makes the Logitech G602 wireless gaming mouse a durability leader in its category.

The Logitech G602 has 11 programmable buttons. Six of them are on the left side of the mouse. Some might argue that they are significantly small and hard to distinguish, but practice shows that this is a matter of getting used to them.

You can use the Logitech gaming software to set the performance of the buttons. The drawback here is that there is no profile storage and you cannot set your preferences for more than one game. On the upper side next to the left click are the Logitech G602 DPI settings. You can toggle between 5 levels of DPI, from 250 to 2,500. Even though for some this might seem low, the G602 exhibits excellent performance, as would be expected by any worthy participant in the “Best Gaming Mouse” round up.

 Functionality

For a wireless mouse the Logitech G602 has significant weight – 107g. It comes with two AA batteries, which add to the weight up to 130g. Since the G602 wireless gaming mouse can operate with just one battery installed, you can adjust the weight by using the two simultaneously, or just the one. This, though, might not be efficient enough.

On the other hand…

The batteries of Logitech G602 have a 250 gaming hours of life, when both are installed. Meaning, you could play for 250 straight hours without having to replace them. And, let’s be honest, some gamers truly want to be capable of such a feat.

Logitech G602 also comes with two quite handy features – you have a Performance mode in which the two batteries combined will endure 250 hours, or around a 120 hours if you install just one. There is also the Endurance mode, which is the economic one and increases the combined gaming life of the two batteries to more than 1440 hours. Of course, you should remember that the Endurance mode makes a small compromise with the accuracy and sensitivity of Logitech G602.
Overall, the Logitech G602 wireless gaming mouse is probably the best pick in its category. It has obvious advantages in terms of reliability and durability, while the drawbacks are minor. With its 3m range, the G602 is sure to let you set yourself comfortably.
Pros
  • Amazing battery life
  • Excellent tracking and accuracy
  • Responsive and with great range
  • Best Mouse for Most Games and Large Hands
Cons
  • Low maximum DPI
  • No profile storage

The Razer Naga Hex V2 is a MOBA-centric gaming mouse. Owning at LoL or DotA 2 is going to be at your fingertips with the Naga Hex V2. It has been ergonomically designed and optimized to tend to the needs of MOBA gamers, but it will also work well for you in MMOs and FPS games.

There are good reasons for the Razer Naga Hex V2 to be considered possibly the best gaming mouse for the MOBA genre.

In contrast to the MMO-centric Razer Naga Chroma & the Epic Chroma

The Hex V2 changes the mechanical grid of 12 side buttons for a 7-button mechanical thumb wheel, more suitable for the MOBA genre – adds a 7th button to the wheel, compared to the previous Hex. It might take some time getting used to holding your thumb at the rest in the center, but this is a habit you can easily fall into.

Through the Razer Synapse free software you can create profiles and store them, with your preferences for the Naga Hex V2 buttons. It also comes with free to download pre-configured profiles for DotA2 and League of Legends.

In terms of design, the Naga Hex V2 body is made of plastic, with rubberized thumb-rest circle and a rubberized rest for the pinky. The Hex V2 comes off as bulky and considerably heavy. Among the few drawbacks of the mouse is the lack of adjustable weights.

The Razer Naga Hex V2 is part of the Chroma line and comes with lighting, which can also be adjusted in the Razer Synapse software. You can choose from four types of Chroma lighting effects – spectrum cycling, breathing, static or reactive, covering the whole color spectrum. Backlit are the scroll wheel, side buttons and the palm logo. As a drawback here can be considered the fact that the lighting is covered when using the mouse, just like the Razer DeathAdder Elite.

 Performance

The Razer Naga Hex V2 puts the point at the amazing 16,000 DPI, which helps it go toe to toe with some of its biggest competitors right now. The high sensitivity of the Naga Hex V2 is dictated by the MOBA-centric build. The 5G laser sensor enables you to perform movements at an extremely high speeds and still getting the results you have been aiming for.

One of the biggest advantages of the Razer Naga Hex V2 is the fact that it offers a massive range of customizable settings. From the functions of buttons through lighting, to the setting of sensitivity and acceleration. The mechanical switches of the Naga Hex V2 will give you a crisp sensation and the tilting scroll wheel is not overly sensitive.

You can get the Razer Naga Hex V2 as a best buy with the Razer Firefly Chroma cloth mouse pad, or with the soft Razer Goliathus Speed Edition. The Razer Synapse software offers you surface calibration, to achieve the best on various surfaces.
As an overall, the Razer Naga Hex V2 is probably the top choice for MOBA gaming as it provides all necessary functionalities and a wide range of customizable settings, needed for you efficient MOBA gaming. There are good reasons for the Naga Hex V2 to be considered one of the best mice in its category.
Pros
  • Amazing response and sensitivity
  • Ergonomic design and comfort
  • Great for MOBA, good for MMOs & FPS
Cons
  • Lighting is covered when using
  • Synapse profile required

Razer Naga Epic Chroma – Best MMO Gaming Mouse

Razer Naga Epic Chroma MMO Gaming Mouse - 19 Buttons - 8,200...
  • 19 MMO optimized programmable buttons for unlimited combos
  • Wireless gaming-grade technology for unbridled maneuverability
  • In-game MMO Configurator. System requirements:PC or Mac with a free...
  • Mechanical thumb grid buttons
  • Ergonomic form Factor

Here comes the most preferred mouse by Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) diehards. With a price tag less than $100, going for this mouse explains the extreme love you have for this genre of game.

So what’s the buzz all about? What makes it that expensive? Why do we need that much number of buttons? And above all what makes the Epic Chroma one of the most preferred mice for this genre.

You’ll get to know all of these and more in this review. Keep in mind, the Razer brand of gaming hardware needs no introduction in the gaming world, so, when Razer came up with something like
the Epic Chroma designed exclusively for MMOs, they had class and integrity in mind.

Design and Features of the Razer Naga Epic Chroma

Looking exactly Razer-like, out of the box, the Epic Chroma measures about 1.6 by 3.0 by 4.6 inches (HWD). The mouse comes with detachable side panels that fit into any palm size, although you might find it hard to remove if you don’t get a firm grasp, and the Claw Grip looks skinny too that some users reported hitting the left and right mouse buttons severally before they could remove it.

Previously, we talked about the 11-buttoned Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum, but the Naga Epic Chroma comes with nineteen programmable buttons optimized specifically for MMOs, twelve of which are placed in a 4×3 grid layout right under your thumb. The mouse is wireless so that a gamer could have enough freedom regarding movement, but the only knock this mouse tends to give is the fact that it’s not ambidextrous- a big sorry for left-handed MMO.

The mouse boasts a 12-hour battery life although not the best mouse one can get in that aspect; the good thing is that it came with a cable, so charging ca be enabled during usage.

It has a very comfortable body design, a tacky feeling that ensure a firm grip, a shiny plastic on the left and right buttons and at the rear a palm rest that gives the utmost comfort.

The Best MMO Gaming Mouse

  • The Naga Epic Chroma boast of 8,200 DPI with 4G sensitivity just like the SteelSeries Proteus Spectrum 700 which is also functions in both wired and wireless mode.
  • On testing, it showed no significant input lag in the wireless mode, it comes with 1000Hz ultra-polling rate, and it’s still able to maintain its 1ms input time.
  • The mouse is equipped with the Razer Synapse 2.0 which is very easy to use.
  • An unlimited number of profiles can be created, and other functions can be performed here, ranging from the lights to assigning buttons for different games.
  • To enjoy the full features of the software, Razer advice that on registering, you are to provide a valid e-mail, accept T&C to activate the full feature of the product, keeping in mind that you need an internet connection.
  • You can download add-ons to enable interface customization

If you are splashing money on this mouse, I can tell you want to spend a lot of time on MMOs such as World of Warcraft and related games. With 12 buttons under your thumb, it’s not always easy to reach the desired button exactly when you need it and that time lag could prove too costly during heated games.

Pros
  • Fully optimized for the MMO genre
  • Comfortable and ergonomic design
  • Very sensitive without a cord
Cons
  • Not ambidextrous
  • Some buttons can difficult to reach
However for MMO lovers, having a mouse like the Razer Naga Epic is just the right way to go because when you have your frequently used tricks at your disposal, the needed edge to emerge victorious in every single game is guaranteed. I wouldn’t say Razer accidentally designed this mouse, I’d rather say it’s all about genre preferences and the performance of this mouse clearly states.

Corsair Vengeance M65 – Best FPS Gaming Mouse

  • Second-generation control panel - Makes setup and customization easier...
  • Onboard profile storage - Settings and profiles are stored directly on...
  • Aluminum unibody design - Built for low weight, high rigidity, and...

First-Person shooter enthusiasts found it so hard to forgive Razer for making an awesome mouse such as the Naga Epic Chroma. Simply MMO oriented, Corsair took advantage of that when they brought Corsair Vengeance M65 mouse to the scene designed mainly for the FPS genre only. Not only does it serves as the better alternative mouse, but it also cheaper.
Every FPS gamer understands that being imprecise at aiming a target turns out to be very costly, and the better the mouse in your arsenal, the more the chances of overcoming your adversary.

Design and Features of the Corsair Vengeance M65

The Vengeance M65 mouse comes with just eight customizable buttons providing the needed real estate for handling and comfortable control.

The mouse is an updated version of the original Corsair Vengeance M60, but unlike the M60 with ADNS-9500, this poisonous rodent comes with a unique new Laser sensor at its base: ADNS-9800. This laser provides the M65 with increased sensitivity that is adjustable from 50 up to 8,200 DPI, fully packed in a futuristic and ergonomic body.

The mouse is designed with just the right number of buttons necessary for the best of FPS Gaming experience, as a matter of fact, just 8 of them.

  • The body is constructed from a comfortable touch plastic which does not attract a significant amount of oil after prolonged use. Underneath your thumb, the M65 boast of 3 customizable buttons – a large red square-shaped one which by default is activated for sniper shot (this button lowers the M65 DPI to attain the much-needed accuracy long-range shootings).

Best FPS Gaming Mouse

  • Just atop the sniper button are two square buttons pre-programmed for backward and forward movement. Situated firmly on the left and right buttons of the M65 is the scroll wheel which is large and ridged to increase its grip-feel and sensitivity.
  • Beneath this track wheel are two other buttons optimized for on-the-fly DPI switching bringing the number of buttons to a total of 8.
  • The Vengeance M65 is cordless, and that’s not a surprise for a mouse designed for a precision genre. The input lag one experiences when using wireless mice reduces your chances of executing killer shots. Diehards know better.
  • Instead of worrying about battery life, sensitivity, and responsiveness, the mouse is connected to your PC by a tangle-free USB 3.0 chord. However, the M65 is non-ambidextrous, so lefties got no love for this mouse designed for top notch quality gaming.
  • The software, on the other hand, is something most gamers would find seemingly hard to come to terms with just like, but when you find your way around it, it is as good as it gets.
  • Although the mouse is compatible with both Windows and Mac Operating Systems, the only knock is that its control panel software which can be downloaded from the Corsair website is Windows-only (Vista/7/8 and Windows XP ).
  • The inbuilt memory of the mouse allows for multiple games profiles enabling gamers to take full advantage of its few but very customizable buttons. The M65 is FPS oriented, but surprisingly, it performed well when used for other genres.
Pros
  • Simple, futuristic and ergonomically designed
  • Just the right number of buttons
  • Very sensitive and responsiveness
Cons
  • Non-ambidextrous
  • Control panel software is Windows only
Tests carried out on the M65 with BioShock Infinite, to get the best out of its sniper button revealed surprising results, it immediately proved its worth even though I’m not an FPS enthusiasts, the sensitivity of the mouse is just so mind blowing. An 8,200 DPI sensitivity could be too much for a gaming mouse, in the case of the Corsair Vengeance M65, all you need is a little bit of adjusting, and you are ready to go.

Mad Catz R.A.T.9 – Best Gaming Mouse for PC

Mad Catz R.A.T.9 Gaming Mouse for PC and Mac

  • Customize Your DPI Settings: Four user-definable DPI settings range...
  • Works with 64-bit & 32-bit Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP, Mac OS X 10.6.6 or...

Alright gamers, at number 6 we have the “King of tweaks”! Yes, you heard right. The almost endless customization available with this cordless rodent makes it the true King of tweaks.

Mad Catz needs no introduction in the gaming market, they have successfully launched themselves to an enviable height and this they continue to improve by releasing some of the best gaming peripherals the gaming world would ever have, and the R.A.T 9 is not an exception.

This fantastic mouse does not just possess the right number of buttons for maximum gaming control, remapping and customization, it’s not just incredibly sensitivity as expected of a high-end gaming mouse, it spoils gamers with the unparalleled luxury of adjusting the feel of the mouse with its modular components. The R.A.T.9 doesn’t come cheap, it stays on top of the list of the most expensive mice at $150.

Design and Features of the Mad Catz R.A.T.9

To be honest, the R.A.T. 9 doesn’t come with all that ergonomic design and stuff, but it possesses the features of a near perfect mouse. It comes with seven 6-grams cartridges to add up with the original weight of the mouse and three different pinkie rest and palm rest that can be placed at various positions on the body of the mouse to fit any palm size.

The choice of such a design by Mad Catz makes the mouse capable of any form of customization, a feature that keeps some other mice staring at the R.A.T. 9 with envy.

  • Placed on top of the mouse, are large, very flat left and right buttons and a ridged scroll wheel with a sensitivity rocker at its rear.
  • Underneath your thumb is a Precision Aim button which could be used to decrease the DPI of the mouse to enable it aim at targets more accurately and just above this button, to the left of the left mouse button are the back and forward buttons.
  • To enable lateral and horizontal scrolling, R.A.T9 comes with a metal thumb wheel which is situated between the thumb rest and the body of the mouse.
  • The mouse can be connected to your PC via a USB-powered transmitter which does not just serve as a battery charging device; it can be used as a storage for the unused weights, so you don’t have them littered around your desk.
  • Mad Catz included two rechargeable and durable batteries in the R.A.T. 9. Having a mouse that dies in the middle of a game could be very disappointing, to bridge that gap, the transmitting device was able to express some degree of versatility, while it served as a storage box and a connector, it kept one battery charging while you was using the other.
  • The LED light switches from red to green when the battery is fully charged. It takes about 15 seconds or less to change the batteries when necessary.

However, the customization software provides a limited control over the DPI switching of the mouse, to make up for that, there is the dedicated DPI sensitivity button on the mouse which enables allows a user to switch swiftly from three preprogrammed sensitivities.

Gamers will always have their reservations on wireless mice; the reason is always the same, and that’s input lag. Although R.A.T 9 is wireless, it has been able to perform just as its wired counterparts. The major difference is that R.A.T 9 is highly customizable, in fact, the most customizable yet.

The range of customization offered by this mouse is so wide that it can accommodate every gamer no matter the genre, with the way it has performed, I think in my sincere opinion, Mad Catz has successfully upgraded their R.A.T. 7 mouse to a super-mouse in the name R.A.T. 9.

Pros
  • Unbeatable wireless performance
  • Excellent and modular design
  • Comes with two batteries for longer use
Cons
  • Very expensive
  • Less ergonomic in design
The list of this year’s best gaming mice would be very incomplete had this tweakers’ favorite didn’t make it. Though it comes at a very high price those who can afford this expensive peripheral know it’s one of best they’d laid their hands on.

Razer Ouroboros– Best Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse

Razer Ouroboros Elite Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse...
  • Customizable Ambidextrous Ergonomics
  • 8200dpi 4G Dual Sensor System
  • 1m Gaming Grade Wireless Connectivity

The gaming world is populated by a whole lot of mice that one could hardly stick to a few. While some of these mice are designed to a suit a particular game genre, some others are non-ambidextrous.

The Razer Ouroboros is a mouse designed to meet every gamer’s dream- tweaks, weight adjustment, customizability, comfortable appeal and sensitivity, but not every wallet size. It ships out at a higher price. Just like the R.A.T. 9 from Mad Catz, Razer decided to throw a lot of features into this mouse so that buys won’t feel almost extorted from such an investment.

The mouse is a result of a combination of effort by ergonomic scientists and pro-gamers. This mouse has a futuristic design; it’s neither specific to a genre nor specific to a particular hand user. The Ouroboros stands out as one the most advanced hardware by Razer.

Design and Features of the Razer Ouroboros

When compared with R.A.T. 9, the mouse boasts to be one of the most customizable gaming rodents yet. The Ouroboros comes with a modular design that allows all sorts of physical adjustment and customization too.

It has eleven programmable buttons with a grip, clickable scroll wheel sitting in-between the left and right mouse buttons.

Complementing its ambidextrous design, are two thumb buttons situated on either sides of the mouse which could be switched on/off by two other buttons underneath the mouse and of course two DPI sensitivity adjustment buttons. Don’t be deceived by the Ouroboros wireless nature, if offers super-fast sensitivity at 1ms just it does when wired thanks to its on-board 32 bit ARM processor.

  • It makes use of the Razer Synapse 2.0 software, enabling players to create profiles for different games and assign Macros. Your presets can be uploaded to the cloud so it can be accessed anywhere and the presets still remain the same.
  • It features a dual-sensor that pairs both optical and laser sensor which makes the mouse capable of providing 8200DPI sensitivity and good tracking ability on any surface. With 1,000Hz polling rate and a tracking speed of 200 inches per second, the mouse remains one of the most trusted companions during a heated game.
  • In wireless mode, the Ouroboros is powered by a single rechargeable AA battery (included in the box) which provides twelve hours of intense gaming.
  • The mouse is designed to suit every kind of user (palm, claw, and fingertip gamers can also be accommodated but on the other hand).
  • At the rear of the mouse is an adjustable Palm-rest which can be screwed up to a full inch to enable any palm size, and with it comes four magnetic side panels that can be attached to the sides of the mouse with ease. With all the great features found in this mouse, it can also be less comfortable to handle.
  • The thumb buttons can be deactivated on either side making it suitable for both left and right-handed players; it, however, appears to be a little complicated. One can always mistakenly press the unused buttons while pressing thumb buttons.

One drawback that comes along with the Razer Ouroboros is the fact that it turns itself to a very low DPI level when my Windows 8 wakes from sleep, it takes about 6-10 seconds to come back to normal, I think this can be sorted out with better software.

Pros
  • Ambidextrous
  • Highly customizable modular design
  • Fit in all palm-sizes
Cons
  • Complicated handling
  • Expensive
Gamers who don’t enjoy tweaking might find the Ouroboros too complicated, but as for the expert players, it’s a dream come true. Although Razer sacrificed more for customizability instead of comfort, the mouse retains its spot as one most sought after mice in the market.

Zowie Gear Ergonomic – Best Budget Gaming Mouse

string(57) "The ItemId B00S9SH7V0 provided in the request is invalid."

When BenQ acquired Zowie, they announced that in 2017, all future eSport peripherals would be released under the brand Zowie, this got gamers puzzled as they waited for what was about to unfold. In a very short time, the company responded with the updated Zowie EC1-A and EC2-A mice.

In this review, I will be taking you through the EC2-A, the smaller of these two rodents. If you know BenQ and its status in the gaming planet then you know that when they shoot, they don’t miss. Unlike most brands, BenQ offers the best of peripherals in the simplest form but paying as much attention as possible to details over price.

Although the EC2-A is mostly recommended to FPS diehards, the comfortable sensation offered by this extremely ergonomic mouse is almost second to none.

Design and Features of the Zowie Gear Ergonomic Optical – Best for Small Hands

Like I said earlier, the Zowie company loves simplicity; EC2-A is one of their stuff that’s got a simplistic design. The mouse, for me, is one of the most ergonomically designed mice I’ve ever handled.

It is small in size and weighs about 90g. It provides the needed room for all grips- claw, palm, and finger. EC2-A boasts of just five buttons: A 24-notch scroll wheel sits in the middle of the left and right buttons and underneath your thumb are two buttons which by default is the program for backward and forward movements.

There is also a DPI toggle switch at the bottom the mouse. The Zowie EC2-A has no software. Yes, you heard that right, and while it sounds like no big deal to some gamers especially newbies, it’s not good news to PROs but aside that, the mouse is worth every cent invested in it.

Previously, I reviewed the SteelSeries Sensei 700, the DeathAdder Chroma, Razer and some others with incredible level of sensitivity and almost non-existent input lags. But here is a mouse in Zowie EC2-A that doesn’t feature any of the above specs but still makes it to this list. The main reason?, The EC2-A has a very comfortable and ergonomic design that most mice don’t, it’s sensitivity and responsiveness are not the best of its kind but certainly it’s just good enough for competitive gaming.

  • The mouse has a DPI sensitivity that can be adjusted from 400 way up to 3200, thanks to the button located at the bottom of the mouse.
  • The polling rate is impressive too, an amazing 1000HZ. It has a tangle-free rubber cord, thin and able to glide along surfaces so quickly, which is in my opinion, is the best cable a mouse can have.
  • Like the previous versions, the EC2-A has a unique appeal, its buttons are so easy to reach for a very quick click. With just five buttons, the mouse provides the needed room for the Palm to relax, even though it’s non-ambidextrous.
  • In terms of performance, it comes with some hiccups when in use, which includes the Lift Off Distance (LOD); although not surprisingly low for a Zowie product, but for me and old dogs alike, 1.5 – 1.8 MM sensitivity off the surface doesn’t sound nice.
  • Its small size gets a nod though as it ensures proper mouse control. The Zowie EC2-A is a superb investment for its price tag.
Pros
  • Perfect cable
  • Ergonomic design
  • Less expensive
  • Very comfortable to handle
  • Great sensors
  • Best for Small Hands
Cons
  • Non-ambidextrous
  • DPI can’t be changed on the fly.
  • Skimp on major gaming functions.
As I mentioned earlier, the Mouse has a very ergonomic design perfectly crafted for right-handed users only. It offers the much needed real estate for wrist movements. Given its well-rounded shape, it allows the player’s fingertips to hold/cover the mouse to move efficiently. The EC2-A mouse comes in a very simple and well-detailed design. One of my best mice.

If I’m going to be candid, I’d say I had a very less futuristic experience with the Zowie EC2-A mouse. I like my mice flexible and ready for fun anytime anywhere. With the Razer Ouroboros, your presets are in a cloud, all that is needed is an internet connection and you’re ready to sail, but with EC2-A which comes without software, setting up profiles and macros is impossible.

Logitech, as we all know, is a household name in PC gaming, they built some of the best gadgets around that’s why the G502 Proteus Spectrum made it to the number 3 spot on this list. Looking back on the review, I poured lots of accolades on the G502 because of its classic design and a whole lot customizable features.

Now let’s look into something different, a king of its class, here is a mouse that is at the top end of Logitech wireless rodents lineup- The Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum. It proudly belongs to the clan of the most expensive mice with Mad Catz R.A.T9 and Razer Ouroboros.

Design and Features of the Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum

The major setbacks rocking wireless mice is the fact that they create lags, and many of these mice do not last long in wireless mode due to battery related issues. The Logitech G900 has been built to erase those fears. Gaming at the top level with a wireless rodent with as much responsiveness you get from a wired mouse has finally been made possible.

Unlike the Razer Ouroboros, designed primarily for customization rather than comfort, the G900 is optimized for both features.

  • It is an ambidextrous mouse: a peripheral for both left and right-handed users. Taking the likes of Razer Ouroboros with thumb buttons that can only be disabled not swapped, G900 has its two buttons comfortably placed underneath your thumb. These buttons can be removed and fixed on the either sides of the mouse (depending on your hand-style) thanks to the magnetic nature of the buttons; this technique helps prevent accidental clicking which is sometimes annoying.
  • The perfect ridge and rubber textured scroll wheel sits atop with the left and right buttons on either side.
  • Behind the scroll wheel are two DPI sensitivity buttons (which can be reprogrammed) that enable on the fly switching.
  • At the bottom of the mouse is a button for profile switching which allows jump from one presets to another.
  • Lastly, there is a button for changing the resistance of the scroll wheel which sums the buttons to eleven in total.

Wireless Gaming Mouse

  • The mouse measures (130 x 67 x 40 mm). One of the lightest wireless mice ever seen is the Razer Mamba which weighs about 130g, but the G900 would make you stand amazed at its weight which is just 107g to be precise. No matter the size of your palm, the mouse is perfectly contained thanks to its symmetrical shape and of course small size.
  • The advanced features that the G900 brings to the scene set it above other wireless mice. Expensive mice come with a whole lot of features to brag about, and the Logitech G900 is no exception.
  • The mouse battery provides between 24-32 hours of battery (the highest seen so far) and takes just 2 hours to attain full juice. The mouse is branded “Spectrum” signifying that a lot of lighting is part of the mix, you can choose from 16.8million of them.
  • The mouse is smart enough to go to sleep after some time of inactivity so that it doesn’t lose battery energy to lighting. Another great feature is the fact that the G900 Chaos Spectrum snaps back to life just as it wakes from sleep.
  • The unique design of the mouse gives it a giant step into dominance for Logitech, also, the unparalleled wireless performance it has displayed tells of a mouse that would become the gamers’ favorite.
Pros
  • Perfect ambidextrous design
  • Advanced software
  • Long battery life
  • Excellent wireless performance
Cons
  • It’s expensive
  • Absence of charging dock
Although Logitech regards this mouse as an eSport peripheral, it has excelled in other games too. The software automatically sets up profiles for all the games on your PC when the mouse is plugged in. There, you can set up button commands like a dedicated sniper button which the mouse doesn’t have, explore the lighting effects, calibrate the mouse response on surfaces and lastly adjust its DPI sensitivity. Although this rodent is way too expensive for an average gamer, trust me, it offers a lot for its worth.

Logitech G303 – Best gaming mouse under $50

  • RGB Customizable Lighting: Customize lighting colors to match your...
  • Durable and lightweight: Maximum gaming comfort and durable buttons...
  • On-the-fly DPI Switching: Make the right moves in any game situation...

Logitech strikes hard again with an upped version of the Daedalus Prime mouse. Giving a new definition to what an apex mouse should be, they deliver the well-designed, affordable G303 Daedalus Apex mouse into the market. Regarded as the most powerful companion for the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), taking the likes of Corsair M65, the mouse stands out as one of the most highly featured but moderately priced mice yet.

The mouse shares a lot regarding design with the Daedalus Prime; both mice have a simple look, optimized for fingertip and claw grip dedicated to the multiple online battle arena fans.

Design and Features of the Logitech G303 DAEDALUS APEX

According to Logitech, the G303 is built exclusively with the Delta Zero (trademark) technology and sitting at its core is the PMW3366 Sensor that enables the mouse to track up 12,000 dots-per-inch (DPI) – Logitech’s best Sensor yet.

  • The mouse measures 4.53 by 2.56 by 1.46 inches (HWD), just like the G302 both weighs 3.07 ounce.
  • The Daedalus Apex features six programmable buttons: The left and right button assembled with a metal spring tensioning system have a highly sensitive scroll wheel in between.
  • A DPI switching button is situated just behind the scroll wheel to enable adjustment on the fly. Just underneath your thumb are two buttons which can be reprogrammed within the Logitech software. This is available for free download on the company’s website.
  • Distancing itself from the Daedalus prime and taking the likes of Logitech’s G900 spectrum Chroma, the G303 offers 16.8 million color pallets that you can choose. Speaking of color, the G303 apex boast of the best lighting a mouse could get.
  • Logitech has armed this mouse with their usual powerful software – The Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) of which some hardcore gamers will bet is the best developed with gaming software ever. On plugging the Mouse to your PC, LGS automatically scans it for available games and set profiles for each. In the software, you can quickly set up color schemes and assign buttons to specific commands.
  • Taking the likes of many good gaming mice, its ability to switch DPI sensitivity is as good as it gets. Although the G303’s DPI button could be difficult to reach during gaming unlike that of Corsair Vengeance M65 mouse which in my opinion still has the easiest-to-reach DPI switching button.
  • On the performance level, the G303 has excelled considerably as a gaming mouse and to say the obvious; it out-performs some of the junk mice that are sold almost twice its price.
  • Although regarded as the ideal mouse for the MOBA genre, it might be as lethal as the Razer Naga Chroma mouse for MMOs due to of its lack many buttons. However, the G303 retains its spot as the top mouse whether for web surfing, casual, or competitive gaming.

The mouse is very comfortable to use. Pressing each button feels divine, if I were asked to give the mouse a name, I’d simply call it “The Smart Mouse” because of its ability to adjust to different surfaces on which it has been tested. Other mice do that too but not as precise as the G303.

Pros
  • Adjusts to surfaces automatically
  • Cool ergonomic design
  • Relatively cheap for its high end features
Cons
  • Non-ambidextrous, not suitable for left-handed gamers
  • Absence of palm rest
Due to its small size, the mouse is very enjoyable when you are a lover of fingertip or claw handling. On the other hand, its lack of Palm support may cause an unpleasant sensation after long gaming sessions. The mouse is non-ambidextrous, lefties may find it hard loving it. On the bottom line, the G303 is one of those mice that offers a lot concerning super-cool features in its minimalistic and ergonomic design.

The Turtle Beach Company is widely recognized as a high-end audio equipment manufacturer. They have broken many records in that field and are even poised for more in the gaming market. To some gamers, it might come as a surprise if they are told Turtle Beach has a wide range of keyboards and mice like any other gaming peripheral maker. Yes, they do, and the Grip 300, tagged as the best cheap wireless gaming mouse is up next in this review.

It is suitable for mid-level gamers who care less about tweaks, complex software, fancy design, futuristic looks of the R.A.T. 9 and so on. In fact, if you’re looking for a cheap, ergonomically designed mouse, the Turtle Beach is your best option.

Design and Features of the Turtle Beach Grip 300

The Grip 300 has a minimalistic design with just five buttons: On the thumb side are two buttons which by default is for backward and forward movements and at the top is a ridged scroll wheel placed in the middle of the of the left and right buttons.

The mouse has a non-slip coating to ensure that your mouse doesn’t slip off your palm on those heated gaming sessions.

A high quality braided cable with well plated USB plug at its end is attached to the mouse. Since this mouse has no software, just plug, and you’re good to go. The mouse is designed for right-handed player players only; it doesn’t have a thumb rest but the body is carefully carved to the left side to provide room for the thumb.

It’s small, dark in color with the red Turtle Beach logo at its rear. Grip 300 measures 8.27 x 2.17 x 8.86 inches and weighs about 164 grams. On handling the mouse, I have noticed it is most comfortable if one is a palm or claw grip player.

The Cheapest Gaming Mouse

  • The mouse sports the Avago 3050 optical sensor, adjustable DPI ranging from 500-1750 with a polling rate of 125-1000HZ.
  • Speaking of DPI adjustment, the mouse has two buttons underneath: one for DPI switching and the other for changing the polling rate of the mouse. The problem with the location of the switch is the fact that one cannot change the DPI on the fly. Let’s assume I want to decrease my mouse sensitivity so I can get a precise sniper shot; I’d probably get shot before I do that.
  • One more thing about customization is the fact that this mouse comes without software, implying that you don’t get to set up profiles for different games although the thumb buttons can be customized depending on the game. This does not mean that you cannot customize some features and this makes the Mouse suitable for mid-level gamers.
  • On testing the mouse, it has proved its worth across all genre although it excelled in FPS than other genres, MMO players would pick this as the winning Mice if had more buttons.
  • The mouse provided the needed edge in Quake Live; you will be able to dedicate commands to your thumb buttons.

For daily PC use, the mouse served remarkably well. The absence of software and drivers guaranteed that little system resources are required to get the mouse up and running. The Turtle Beach Company have demonstrated that elegance and simplicity could ride together and that’s what G300 is all about.

Pros
  • Very Cheap
  • Great comfortable design
  • Doesn’t need drivers to run
Cons

Not suitable for all genre

  • No version available for lefties
Cheap but not sacrificing too much on beauty and function, this mouse stands out as one the best mice I ever come across. Overall, the G300 is a mouse with a great design for its price. If you are looking for the best cheap gaming mouse, it’s the Mouse to buy. It hasn’t got those great features you see in the top gaming mouse, true. It’s the perfect companion for non-professional gamers.

Corsair has an enviable, rich and long history when it comes PC gaming hardware. The chances are high that ardent PC gamers had one time owned a Corsair’s device.

When the M65 launched, it was dedicated to FPS players, and you would think that you had seen it all. That was only a bait to the bigger deal: The Vengeance M95.

With this mouse, Corsair strikes hard as a brand that has got all it takes to provide the best of peripherals for any game genre one could come across. The M65 (for FPS players) boasted of an elegant, ergonomic and comfortable design with eight with programmable buttons. The M95 has got more: Fifteen programmable buttons in a super-slick ergonomic body. Bearing the tag “Best Laser Gaming Mouse” means you are looking for trouble unless it is, of course, the Vengeance M95 mouse.

Design and Features of the Corsair Vengeance M95

The mouse’s many buttons are one of the features most MMO players will quickly adapt to. M95 boasts of the usual left and right buttons at the top with a nicely ridged scroll wheel sitting in between. Just beside the left button of the Mouse are two rectangular buttons and on the thumb side are nine neatly arranged buttons.

Clicking these buttons gives you control with an extremely responsive feel. Unlike the Razer Naga Chroma, these buttons are so easy to reach.

To add to the already well-crafted engineering, the mouse has an aluminum framework by the left side towards the front of the mouse which adds to the whole beauty of the M95.

Laser Gaming Mouse

  • This wired rodent has a laser Depth of 1.5 mm, measures 114 x 70 x 38 mm with a commendable weight of 181 g.
  • The mouse has a nice grip body to ensure an awesome control in any gaming level.
  • Underneath the mouse is something I haven’t seen in a mouse before: A brilliantly shaped aluminum plate with friction-free feet that provides the needed support for the base of the mouse.
  • The mouse is built to premium taste with the Avago ADNS 9800 laser sensor that will offer you the much-needed sensitivity from a mouse with DPI ranging from 50-8200.
  • The sensitivity is acute enough to adjust automatically to any surface used as a mouse pad to give the best performance any mouse can give.
  • The mouse comes without a CD for software installation, all you need to do is login to the Corsair’s website to get the file and get busy with different customization options. All fifteen keys of the M95 are customizable. Once the software is downloaded and installed, you can reassign commands for anything the mouse offers, ranging from Macros to DPI sensitivity even to open the mouse software with the push of a button.
Pros
  • Highly customizable buttons
  • Beautiful and comfortable design
  • Top notch and robust software
Cons
  • Buttons feels similar
  • Absence of adjustable weights
On a performance level, the M95 offers one of the highest degrees of accuracy and precision, although the mouse is advertised as an MMO mouse, it has also excelled brilliantly in other genres. Some players may find it difficult to reach some of the buttons at first but as far as I’m concerned, the mouse is easy to use, and it might just take a week or two for you to get the hang of it. It is a big step for Corsair, making a mouse this good, to replace the M90 is something many Vengeance lovers are eager to see. The mouse ships out at a near budget friendly price.

Mice like the Razer Deathadder Chroma and SteelSeries Sensei- arguably the best out there won’t just persistently provide the best of comfort and handling, it is the most lethal weapon in your gaming arsenal.

Best Gaming Mouse – Top Reviews and Buyer’s Guide

What to look for in a gaming mouse

There are a bunch of features to look out for when choosing a gaming mouse.

Lagging input – This is one of the most important features of gaming mice. The lagging input of standard mice is about 10-20ms, hardcore gamers will appreciate the almost non-existent lagging input of a good gaming mouse which is about 1ms. Any specification short of this will not give you the full gaming experience you deserve.
Mouse responsiveness – Another feature to consider is  the mouse responsiveness with regards to the DPI sensitivity and Switching. Gaming requires a lot of motion and any missed move could make a difference between winning and losing.

Weight – Light-weight mice are easier to maneuver especially as you enjoy your favorite game. The weight of some mice can be adjusted like we have with the Mad Catz R.A.T.9 gaming mouse while others like Razer DeathAdder Chroma slotted as our number one on the list falls short on that one feature.

Price – You would want to have a balance between great features and pocket friendly mice. There is no point spending so much money on a mouse that does not meet your requirement and you should also not have to break the bank just because you want certain features. Striking a balance is key and setting your budget is a good thing to do first, then you can search for one with features that you want without going beyond your budget.

Does the genre I want to play matter?
With some mice it does. There are gaming mice, especially made and optimized for FPS, as well as MMOs and MOBAs. The main differences are in the DPI levels and button positioning. But some gaming mice can be used for all purposes.
Do gaming mice have drawbacks?
If a drawback should be pointed out, this is probably the fact that they would cost a bit more than ordinary mice.

How to Choose Your Gaming Mouse?

This would entirely depend on your gaming style and preferred genre. But you should consider several important things when getting a new gaming mouse.

 1. Make sure you know your palm and if the ergonomics of a mouse would suit your grip.

If you don’t, even if you get the best gaming mouse on the market, a lot of pressure might be put on your wrist and take from the pleasure of gaming, especially during long and exhausting sessions.

But do you know what grip you have?

  • Palm grip – this implies that you are placing your whole hand on the mouse and your palm rests on top of it. Control is exerted with the arm and there is less pressure on the wrist.
  • Claw grip – close to the palm grip, the claw grip is characterized by the fact that your fingers are arched and only your fingertips touch the mouse. There could be some pressure on your wrist.
  • Fingertip grip – you contact the mouse only with your fingertips and your palm is not rested on top of it. This grip allows for more maneuverability but there is significant amount of stress applied on your hand and wrist.

 2. Make sure you clearly know the purposes of getting a gaming mouse, including what game genres you are going to play mainly.

The positioning of buttons and the functionalities and features of some mice might not answer the needs of certain genres. You should clearly know what you are going to play using a certain mouse:

  • FPS (First Person Shooter)
  • MOBA (Multiplayer online battle arena)
  • MMO (Massively multiplayer online game)

Most gaming mice allow you to program your buttons and store them in different profiles, if you like to play in more than one genre. Still, button positioning might not be suitable enough, so you have to take that into consideration.

3. Make sure you know exactly what you expect of a gaming mouse – sensitivity and acceleration, response rate, and of course, the range of customization you expect.

Some mice give you the chance to customize not only the functions of their buttons, but also to store profiles, to change lighting, and even adjust the weight of the mouse.

You might think that choosing a gaming mouse is easier than it sounds, but it actually takes quite some time to find something that can answer all of your requirements. And you should make sure to spend this time on choosing the right mouse for you, if you want to make gaming an even more exciting experience.
